Royal Enfield has brought its first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, to Pune following previous launches in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Ten dealers across Pune are now ready to offer sales and service for the electric bike, joining the twelve dealers in Bengaluru and four in Hyderabad.
Bike Features
The retro-styled motorcycle features a girder fork design and runs on a 3.91kWh battery pack. It gives a claimed IDC range of 154 kilometres on a single charge. The permanent magnet synchronous motor produces a peak output of 15.4kW and 60Nm of torque. Buyers can choose from three color options named Flea Green, Storm Black, and Parachute White. Modern rider aids include cornering-sensitive ABS, traction control, and five ride modes with one user-configurable option.
Future Models
Royal Enfield has also planned an upcoming scrambler-style model named the S6, which will share the same underpinnings as the C6. Apart from domestic rollouts, the brand has launched the electric bike in five European countries and the United Kingdom.
Context
Major traditional motorcycle manufacturers are increasingly expanding into electric mobility to capture growing demand for eco-friendly two-wheelers. Royal Enfield's step-by-step city rollout allows the company to test dealership readiness and service networks for its first-ever electric vehicle.
