Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh successfully kicked off his Aura India tour with a packed performance at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday night. Hours after the event, the 42-year-old artist went live on Instagram to address his fans and critics. He stated that he intends to keep working for as long as he chooses and dismissed people who try to spread negative energy.

The Roadblocks

The Delhi show faced major hurdles before it could take place. Delhi Police originally rejected the request for the event due to law-and-order duties during the festive season and security inputs. The event organizers then handed in an updated layout for security, vehicle movement, and crowd control, which finally secured the necessary approval. On top of administrative hurdles, wet stage conditions caused by sporadic rain also threatened the event. Despite these issues, the singer delivered a show lasting over two hours.

Official Thanks and Tour Plans

During both the live session and the concert, the performer expressed gratitude to the Delhi Police and young CRPF personnel for setting up strong arrangements that made the event possible. He noted that while his shows around the world often face issues, problems always pop up specifically when his performances begin in India. The performer has seven more stops left across the country as part of his ongoing tour.

Context

Large public events in major Indian cities often require extensive security clearances and traffic planning, particularly during festive periods when law enforcement agencies are stretched thin. Performers staging arena-scale concerts frequently navigate complex administrative permissions before their events can proceed.
