Box Office Surge

Drishyam: The Conclusion hits theatres today on October 2, marking the final instalment of the Hindi franchise. The film features the return of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside returning stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, and Kamlesh Sawant, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the cast. Advance bookings opened on September 27 across six show dates. According to Sacnilk, advance sales crossed ₹17 crore domestically in the first 72 hours, with total advance bookings reaching ₹44.33 crore across 6 show dates, or ₹34.10 crore without block seats. Day 1 alone leads with ₹23.69 crore in advance sales. Maharashtra stands as the top state for Day 1 with ₹7.46 crore, followed by Delhi at ₹5.23 crore and Gujarat at ₹1.68 crore, with the National Capital Region emerging as a top city market.

Story and Direction

Trade estimates place the net opening day collection above ₹50 crore, which would surpass the opening day haul of Singham Again at ₹43.50 crore net. The film also beats the final advance booking figures of Drishyam 2, which stood at ₹5.09 crore. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, this third chapter picks up after the events of Drishyam 2 with a fresh mystery at its centre. Rajveer takes charge of the case to expose Vijay's story, while IGP Meera Deshmukh continues her personal quest for revenge. Crucially, the makers and Ajay Devgn revealed at the trailer launch that the film features a completely different script from Mohanlal's Malayalam Drishyam 3.

Context

The Hindi Drishyam series began in 2015 as an official adaptation of Malayalam thrillers before carving out an independent narrative path in this final chapter. Major theatrical releases on national holidays like October 2 often benefit from extended weekend footfalls and solo box office windows.
