UPDATE - follow-up to Drishyam 3 Movie Review LIVE Updates: Ajay Devgn film clocks record Rs 38 cr advance booking:-

Box Office Numbers

Drishyam: The Conclusion has registered advance bookings of Rs 44.33 crore across six show dates, or Rs 34.10 crore without blocked seats, according to data from Sacnilk. Day one advance bookings alone crossed Rs 23.69 crore, with Maharashtra leading the state collections at Rs 7.46 crore, followed by Delhi at Rs 5.23 crore and Gujarat at Rs 1.68 crore. The film has sold over 11 lakh tickets across roughly 36,000 shows and is set for a solo release on the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday.

Franchise Shift

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the third instalment marks a major narrative departure by moving away from the Malayalam series starring Mohanlal to tell an entirely original story. At the trailer launch, lead actor Ajay Devgn stated that he wanted Mohanlal and filmmaker Jeethu Joseph to watch and approve the film. Returning cast members include Tabu as IGP Meera Deshmukh, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and Kamlesh Sawant, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join as new additions.

Trade Predictions

Trade analysts have shared massive projections for the thriller's opening day. Vishwajit Patil predicted a net opening between Rs 55 crore and Rs 57 crore, while Sumit Kadel noted that the film could touch Rs 55 crore to become the first murder-mystery to open above Rs 45 crore. Exhibitor Raj Bansal also expressed strong optimism for the bumper opening.

Context

This release caps a successful trilogy that began with the 2015 Hindi remake of the Malayalam hit, following the protagonist's ongoing efforts to protect his family from law enforcement. The absence of competing major Bollywood releases on October 2 provides the film a clear window to maximize holiday footfalls.
