Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final chapter of the Hindi franchise arriving in cinemas on October 2. The film picks up after the events of Drishyam 2, bringing back Tabu as IGP Meera Deshmukh, along with Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant, and Mrunal Jadhav, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the cast. Unlike the first two Hindi films which were remakes of Mohanlal's Malayalam series, this third instalment follows an entirely independent script. Director Abhishek Pathak stated that he wanted to end the franchise as a trilogy rather than dragging out the same characters. According to Sacnilk, the film has generated Rs 44.33 crore in advance bookings across six show dates, or Rs 34.10 crore without blocked seats, selling more than 11 lakh tickets across roughly 36,000 shows. Day one advance bookings alone stand at Rs 23.69 crore, with Delhi-NCR and Maharashtra leading the regional sales. The release benefits from a solo window on a national holiday, with trade analysts predicting an opening day collection between Rs 35 crore and upwards of Rs 50 crore, easily surpassing the final advance figures of Drishyam 2 and rivaling previous box office hits like Singham Again.

Context

Major Bollywood releases timed around national holidays like Gandhi Jayanti frequently leverage extended weekend windows to drive high opening-day footfalls. The Drishyam series has built a strong following over the years through its suspenseful cat-and-mouse plotlines centered on a common man protecting his family from law enforcement.
