UPDATE - follow-up to Ramlila Maidan rally: FIR registered over graffiti on police vehicle: Police have registered a case at the Kamla Market police station under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act following viral videos of graffiti on a police vehicle during the INDIA bloc rally on November 1 at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.

Political Row

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the Congress over a purported artificial intelligence-generated image of the crowd shared by former MP and Congress Working Committee member Jagdish Thakor. BJP MP Sambit Patra stated that 40 percent of the ground was vacant and around 5,000 to 7,000 of the 28,000 chairs remained empty by 3:30 to 4 PM, despite claims of ten lakh attendees. BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan called the event a flop show and criticized attendees leaving while Rahul Gandhi spoke. Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Misra-Mona defended the gathering, calling the turnout a historic mass movement.

Context

Political rallies in the national capital frequently draw sharp divisions between ruling and opposition parties over crowd sizes and event management. The opposition had organized this gathering to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision exercise and alleged electoral irregularities.
