Devotional film Hanuman Ansh continues a strong run at the domestic box office even during its eighth weekend, facing competition from the new crime thriller Drishyam 3. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and featuring Shobhinaw Satyaa as spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, the film has amassed Rs 379.96 crore gross and Rs 321.73 crore net domestically, along with Rs 419.46 crore worldwide.
Collections and Screens
On day 58, which was its eighth Saturday, the film added Rs 2.10 crore from 1,339 screens. This marked a 6.7 percent drop from its eighth Friday earnings of Rs 2.25 crore across 1,166 screens. The arrival of Drishyam 3 reduced screen counts for Hanuman Ansh by more than half compared to its seventh Thursday when it earned Rs 2.90 crore from 4,345 screens. Despite the stiff competition from the Ajay Devgn-starrer, which opened with over Rs 66 crore according to Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh is on track to earn over Rs 6 crore in its eighth weekend.
Milestones and Rankings
In domestic net collections, the film sits roughly Rs 20 crore away from passing Anurag Singh's period war drama Border 2, which starred Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan and finished with a net collection of Rs 341.70 crore. Passing Border 2 would make Hanuman Ansh the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026. Aditya Dhar's spy thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, holds the highest spot with Rs 1,108.90 crore.
Journey and Future Releases
Released on August 7 without star power or large scale, the sleeper hit earned just Rs 25 lakh on day one and Rs 1.08 crore in week one. It dropped to Rs 40 lakh in week two against Independence Day releases like Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2, before surging in week three by crossing the Rs 1 crore daily threshold and collecting Rs 2.50 crore on its third Sunday. Weekly totals grew significantly through weeks four and five before stabilizing in later weeks. The film has also earned Rs 39.50 crore internationally since its overseas release by Hombale Films on September 11, and a dubbed Telugu version is set to release soon.
Context
Sleeper hits in the Indian film industry occasionally defy low-budget openings through strong word-of-mouth momentum, allowing them to sustain theatrical runs despite competing against high-budget tentpole releases. Major box office trackers like Sacnilk monitor these daily shifts in screen counts and ticket sales to chart the commercial trajectory of theatrical releases.
