Actor Janhvi Kapoor has strongly condemned an AI-generated inappropriate video featuring her and her Devara co-star Jr NTR from the song Chuttamalle, comparing the morphed clip to assault. The altered video showed Kapoor in a sexually explicit scene that was never part of the original track.

Kapoor Statement

Kapoor posted a long note on her Instagram handle to slam the criminal misuse of technology. She stated that using technology to objectify women and share fictional content without consent is deeply violating and borders on sexual assault. She added that almost every woman in her industry has faced some version of this issue, while women everywhere face it more often.

Industry Support

Following the viral spread of the video, Jr NTR criticized such distasteful clips and threatened legal action against them. Several other leading voices from South film industries also extended their support to Kapoor. These supporters included Chiranjeevi, Vijay Deverakonda, and Khushbu Sundar. Kapoor thanked NTR for taking a strong stand and thanked Chiranjeevi, Vijay, and Khushbu for amplifying the sentiment and calling for action against immoral practices.

Context

This incident highlights the growing global concerns around the misuse of artificial intelligence tools, particularly deepfake technology, to create non-consensual explicit content. The entertainment industry has increasingly faced challenges with digital manipulation, prompting calls for stricter regulations and legal protections for public figures and private citizens alike.
