Honda Cars India has launched the facelifted Elevate midsize SUV, with introductory prices starting at Rs 11.80 lakh and going up to Rs 18.40 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. First introduced in September 2023, the updated SUV brings revised exterior styling, cabin upgrades, and new equipment while keeping its 1.5-litre petrol engine.
Trims and Pricing
The updated lineup spans SV, V, VX, ZX, and a new ZX+ trim, alongside a ZX+ Black version. The base SV trim starts unchanged at Rs 11.80 lakh, while the V and VX trims begin at Rs 12.29 lakh and Rs 13.93 lakh for manual versions. The ZX manual starts at Rs 15.39 lakh, and the new range-topping ZX+ manual starts at Rs 16.80 lakh, with CVT automatic options available across higher variants up to Rs 18.40 lakh for the ZX+ Black CVT.
Design and Cabin
The front fascia features a larger mesh grille, a connected tri-bar LED lighting signature, and a bonnet-mounted Honda badge. A new Nordic Forest Pearl colour joins the palette alongside seven other options. Inside, the cabin trades faux-wood for an ivory-and-black theme with soft-touch surfaces and wraparound ambient lighting. Key comfort upgrades include front and rear ventilated seats, powered front seats, and an eight-way driver seat.
Safety and Performance
Technology additions include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and low-speed follow for adaptive cruise control within the Honda Sensing safety suite. CVT variants also receive rear disc brakes and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Honda has improved cabin quietness using thicker insulation and acoustic layers around the fender arches. The SUV retains its 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine making 121 PS and 145 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox, with E20 and WLTP compliance.
Context
Midsize SUVs represent one of the most fiercely contested segments in the Indian passenger vehicle market, prompting manufacturers to frequently update their models with advanced safety features and cabin luxuries to attract buyers. Ventilated seating and advanced driver-assistance systems have rapidly transitioned from luxury car additions to key selling points in mass-market SUVs. Meanwhile, carmakers continue to refine traditional petrol powertrains for stricter emission norms even as consumer interest in hybrid and electric alternatives grows.
