Dhanush Says Sai Pallavi the Only Fit for Sita in New Ramayana Film

Actor Dhanush declared that Sai Pallavi is the only performer who could play Sita in the upcoming two‑part film Ramayana. He made the remark at the pre‑release event for his latest movie OM, where he also praised her devotion and craft. Dhanush recalled first meeting Sai on the set of Maari 2, noting she was shy and spoke little off camera. He said her transformation over nine years was striking, adding that she now carries the poise and confidence of a seasoned cinema professional. In OM, Sai portrays CBI officer Nithya Reddy, who investigates illegal red sandalwood trade and whose personal loss drives the case that links her to Dhanush’s and Mammootty’s characters. While speaking on stage, Dhanush praised Sai’s bravery in taking on the challenging role of Sita and highlighted her constant prayers during shot breaks, describing her as devoted and pure‑hearted. Ramayana adapts Valmiki’s epic, follows Lord Rama’s battle against the asura king Ravana, and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
