Car buyers looking for a model with a sunroof under Rs 10 lakh this festive season have ten distinct options across hatchbacks, compact SUVs, and sedans. The Hyundai i20 leads the list as India's cheapest car offering a sunroof starting from its Magna variant at Rs 7.04 lakh, drawing first-time buyers with Hyundai's strong after-sales support.

Hatchbacks and Sedans

The Tata Altroz follows as a rival, offering a sunroof from the Pure (S) variant at Rs 7.44 lakh in petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrain options. For sedan buyers, the Maruti Dzire ZXi Plus provides an electrically adjustable sunroof for Rs 8.96 lakh, making it the only compact sedan in the country with this feature.

Compact SUVs

The market also features several entry-level and compact SUVs equipped with sunroofs below the Rs 10 lakh mark. The Tata Punch micro-SUV includes a sunroof from the Pure Plus (S) Petrol MT variant at Rs 7.51 lakh, while the Kia Sonet serves as the most affordable compact SUV with a sunroof starting at the HTE (O) variant for Rs 7.87 lakh. The Hyundai Exter offers a sunroof from the HX 4+ variant onward at Rs 8.13 lakh in petrol and CNG versions. Meanwhile, the Skoda Kylaq brings German engineering to the segment with a sunroof from the Classic Plus variant priced at Rs 8.29 lakh.

Premium Compact SUVs

Rounding out the selections are higher-priced models that still sit under the budget ceiling. The Tata Nexon Smart Plus (S) costs Rs 8.51 lakh and features a sunroof, with higher variants offering a panoramic glass roof. The Hyundai Venue offers a sunroof from the HX 5 Petrol MT variant priced at Rs 9.55 lakh, and the Maruti Brezza ZXi 1.0 Turbo MT finishes the list at Rs 9.94 lakh following its recent facelift and turbo engine introduction.

Context

Automakers increasingly add premium features like sunroofs to lower and mid-level vehicle variants to attract budget-conscious buyers in competitive markets like India. This shift reflects changing consumer preferences where comfort and stylistic additions traditionally reserved for luxury segments now drive volume sales across affordable categories.
