UPDATE - follow-up to JAS Tensei: The NSX reborn by JAS Motorsport: JAS Motorsport is building just 35 examples of the Tensei, a heavily re-engineered version of the first-generation Honda NSX.
Design And Build
Pininfarina designed the new carbon fibre body, keeping only the roof untouched from the original car. The wheels are up by four inches to 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, while pop-up headlamps now feature LED treatment.
Engine And Performance
British engineering firm Judd Power helped re-engineer the 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 to produce 420hp with an 8,500rpm redline. The car uses a 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and an extensively revised chassis with KW dampers and a hydraulic front-axle lift system.
Context
JAS Motorsport has served as an official Honda partner since 1998, building race cars for touring car competitions. This project brings together Japanese engineering heritage, British motorsport expertise, and Italian design at the company's facility near Milan.
