Toyota will launch the facelifted Glanza hatchback on October 14, 2026, after releasing its first front‑end teasers. The teaser images focus on a larger grille surrounded by a thick silver frame, black mesh insert and a red‑painted panel under the Toyota badge. A contrasting red strip separates the grille from a darker lower bumper, while a partial lamp housing is visible beside it. The redesign also hints at a new bumper treatment with black honeycomb‑pattern elements.

Features

Beyond looks, the updated model is expected to borrow several equipment upgrades first seen on the Baleno facelift, such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad with active cooling and Clarion audio speakers. Toyota may also add Level 2 ADAS, offering automatic emergency braking, lane‑keep assist, high‑beam assist and adaptive cruise control, expanding the car’s safety suite. Inside, the cabin layout should stay the same, but Toyota‑specific upholstery and trim could set it apart from the Baleno.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Glanza will switch from the current four‑cylinder unit to a 1.2‑litre three‑cylinder petrol engine used in the Swift, Dzire and the refreshed Baleno, promising better fuel efficiency. Transmission options will likely stay as a five‑speed manual and a five‑speed AMT, with a factory‑fitted CNG variant and a CNG‑AMT combo also planned for cost‑conscious buyers. The facelift will continue to rival the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the premium hatchback segment.

Context

The Glanza is Toyota’s rebadged version of the Maruti Baleno, positioned as an affordable premium hatchback in India. Facelifts like this are used by manufacturers to refresh styling and add newer technology to stay competitive in a crowded market.
