BYD has launched a new Festive Edition of its Sealion 7 flagship SUV in India with an ex-showroom price of Rs 50.60 lakh, as part of the company's 'Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD' campaign.

Model Details

This limited run is restricted to just 150 units across the country. The vehicle is built on the mid-spec Premium trim level, which normally costs Rs 49.90 lakh, making the new variant Rs 70,000 more expensive than the standard version. According to Rushlane, that extra cost pays for a fresh tan-and-black interior theme that replaces the mono-tone upholstery found on the regular model. The premium Nappa leather, dashboard, and door trims all feature this new dual-tone color scheme.

Features and Performance

Beyond the cabin refresh, the Festive Edition shares its equipment list with the standard Premium trim. It retains the 82.56 kWh battery paired with a 308 bhp rear-wheel-drive motor. Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, a panoramic glass roof, a powered tailgate, and double-glazed glass. Inside, it keeps the 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, ventilated front seats with driver memory, dual-zone climate control, and a total storage capacity of up to 558 liters combining the trunk and frunk. Charging is handled by an 11 kW AC charger, alongside full LED exterior lighting.

Leadership Statement

Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, stated that the company is focused on creating products that match the evolving aspirations of Indian customers as it grows its premium electric vehicle presence. He noted that the Festive Edition brings a unique look to the Premium variant for the festive season while keeping the core technology, safety, and performance of the vehicle intact.

Context

Automakers frequently introduce limited-run cosmetic variants during festive periods in India to draw showroom traffic and boost sales. These special editions typically feature unique interior color schemes or extra exterior accents while keeping the mechanical platform unchanged from regular production models.
