BYD has launched a new Festive Edition of its Sealion 7 electric SUV in India, priced at Rs 50.60 lakh ex-showroom. The company is offering only 150 units of this special version across the country as part of its 'Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD' campaign. This model sits above the regular Premium trim, costing Rs 70,000 more than that version's Rs 49.90 lakh price tag.
Interior And Features
The extra money buys buyers a new tan-and-black interior theme that is not available on the standard model. Premium Nappa leather upholstery covers the cabin, extending to the dashboard and door trims for a sporty look. Under the body, it keeps the same setup as the standard Premium variant, featuring an 82.56kWh battery pack and a rear electric motor. According to the company, the motor pushes out 313 horsepower and 380Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in a claimed time of 6.7 seconds and delivers an NEDC-rated range of 567 kilometers.
Leadership Statement
Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, said the Festive Edition brings a distinct tan and black interior to the premium variant in a limited run for the festive season. He added that the model retains the core technology, safety, and performance of the Sealion 7 while offering customers a fresh choice.
Context
Automakers often release limited festival-season variants with cosmetic upgrades to attract buyers during peak shopping months. This strategy helps brands create a sense of exclusivity without altering the core mechanical platform of an existing vehicle.
