Mrunal Thakur Declines to Confirm Raaka Role, Promises Social Media Update

Mrunal Thakur said she has not confirmed any involvement in Allu Arjun and Atlee's upcoming sci‑fi film Raaka and will announce new projects on her social‑media accounts. In an HT City interview she laughed when asked directly about Raaka, replying, "I like how you assume that I am doing Raaka." She added, "The announcement of upcoming films, I will make it on social networking sites soon, so that we put a full stop to all these rumours." The actress shifted focus to her latest release, Pooja Meri Jaan, and explained her film‑selection approach, saying she wants to enjoy the process and treat each project as an experiment with a clear aim, apparatus, observation and conclusion. Earlier, speaking to Mid‑Day, she said she has not signed any film in almost nine months, is waiting for a meaningful role, and that any announcement will appear on her social‑media handle before she discusses it further. Raaka is slated for a 2027 release, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, directed by Atlee, marking the actor’s first collaboration with the Tamil filmmaker. The pan‑India project earned a Guinness World Record for real‑time motion capture, involving 37 performers at once. ## Context The Raaka rumor reflects the high public interest in cross‑industry collaborations, where actors from different regional cinemas join large‑scale projects that aim for nationwide appeal.
