Royal Enfield has unveiled the limited‑edition Classic 650 Anniversary Edition priced at Rs 4,25,589 ex‑showroom in India. The model is capped at 125 units per key region worldwide and will be sold through registrations opening at 2 PM IST on 16 Oct 2026, closing on 28 Oct, with deliveries slated for November 2026.

Overview

The bike keeps the 650 Twin platform but adds a bespoke Hypershift paint that shifts between red, green and gold as light moves. Brass‑coloured base panels echo the brand’s 1901 motorcycles. The finish covers the fuel tank, side panels, mudguards and the headlamp nacelle, while the engine and exhaust are black for contrast.

Features

Hand‑painted pinstripes outline the tank’s central black area, a Royal Enfield cannon decal sits atop the tank and a gilded 125‑year crest adorns the side panel. A quilted brown leather seat with vintage‑style stitching replaces the standard seat. Equipment includes an LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, USB‑C charging point, conventional bulb turn indicators, wire‑spoke wheels, rounded mirrors and black‑finished twin exhausts.

Technical Specs

Power comes from a 647.95 cc fuel‑injected SOHC twin delivering 34.6 kW (≈47 PS) at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm torque at 5,650 rpm, mated to a six‑speed gearbox and wet multi‑plate clutch. Brakes are 320 mm front and 300 mm rear discs with twin‑piston floating calipers and dual‑channel ABS. Wheels are 19‑inch front, 18‑inch rear with 100/90 and 140/70 tyres. Seat height is 800 mm, ground clearance 154 mm, wheelbase 1,475 mm, fuel capacity 14.7 L and kerb weight 243 kg (90 % fuel & oil).

Market Context

Above‑350 cc sales slipped 26.04 % in September 2026 to 12,463 units, a drop from 16,850 a year earlier, while overall company sales rose 7.75 % YoY to 1,33,958 units. July‑Sept volumes fell 11.84 % to 38,983 units and April‑Sept sales fell 9.12 % to 74,784 units, even as total volumes grew double‑digit percentages. Royal Enfield plans to launch a 750 cc Himalayan in the coming weeks, which is expected to revive the above‑350 cc segment.

Context

The limited run aims to boost brand visibility as the company’s higher‑displacement line faces a sales dip, and the upcoming Himalayan model is intended to attract buyers back to larger bikes.
