Budaun Lpg Users Face Booking Block Over Missing Kyc Details

Ninety thousand cooking gas users in Budaun will not get their LPG cylinders because they have not completed their KYC. The district supply department has stopped booking gas for these accounts until the verification is finished. Out of about seven lakh total domestic gas users in the district, 89,138 accounts still have incomplete KYC records. Officials sent regular text messages, shared notices through agencies, and spread awareness via newspapers over the past two months. Despite these warnings, many people did not update their details. District Supply Officer Satish Chandra Mishra states that the process takes only two to three minutes to finish.
Background
The strict KYC rule started after gas supplies faced disruptions during a conflict in West Asia. Checks during that period revealed fake and duplicate connections, including multiple connections held by single individuals and gas being taken in the names of dead people. While regular gas supply has since resumed, the department has temporarily blocked connections for anyone who has still not completed the mandatory verification.
