Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated Xtreme 160R 4V in India with introductory prices starting at Rs 1.27 lakh for the Standard variant, while the Pro model sits at Rs 1.37 lakh and the top Carbon variant costs Rs 1.41 lakh. Bookings are currently open across all company showrooms, and vehicle deliveries are scheduled to begin in November to coincide with the festive season.

What Changed

The motorcycle features a sharpened exterior design, most noticeable on the fuel tank and rear seat cowl, alongside new colour choices. The model lineup now consists of the Standard variant available in Firestorm Red and Pearl Black, the Pro variant in Pro Red and Pro Black, and the Carbon variant offered in Carbon Red, Carbon Black, Carbon Grey, and Abrax Orange. Mechanically, all versions retain the oil-cooled engine, but peak power has increased slightly to 17.1 horsepower delivered at 8,750 rpm, while torque remains at 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

Features And Variants

Hero has separated the Standard variant from the rest of the lineup by using a telescopic front suspension, a mechanical throttle, single-channel ABS, and an LCD console. Meanwhile, the Pro and Carbon variants feature ride-by-wire with three modes named Rain, Road, and Sports, standard cruise control, 37mm KYB upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock with adjustable preload, and dual-channel ABS. The top Carbon variant distinguishes itself further by introducing a custom-layout TFT display shared with the Xpulse 210, offering day and night functionality, connectivity, and more than 60 features.

Context

Motorcycle manufacturers in India often time their vehicle updates and price announcements ahead of the festive season to capture high consumer demand during periods like Diwali. Street-fighter motorcycles in the 160cc segment compete heavily for young buyers looking for sporty styling and modern electronics like digital displays and riding modes.
