A team of 642 personnel from the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation works behind the scenes to maintain the massive lighting displays across Mysuru during Dasara-2026.

Personnel Breakdown

The workforce includes 323 staff members from the N.R. Mohalla division and 243 from the V.V. Mohalla division, while 76 more come on deputation. Engineers and field workers handle tasks like monitoring infrastructure, checking equipment, and fixing faults quickly to keep the colorful lights on major roads, traffic circles, and the palace glowing safely.

Leadership and Oversight

Energy Minister K.J. George, CESC chairman and MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, and managing director M.S. Archana reviewed the work to make this year's display larger than before. Other top officials, including technical director L. Lokesh and superintending engineer Sunil Kumar, also oversaw the operations.

Context

Large public festivals require complex behind-the-scenes utility management to handle massive crowds and ensure public safety. Power supply companies routinely mobilize large technical teams across different city zones during major cultural events to prevent electrical failures.
