UPDATE - follow-up to Tiger Shroff shoot-out: We will respond to them in their own language, says DCM Ekanth Shinde: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has termed the firing on actor Tiger Shroff's car unfortunate and promised strict action against the attackers.

What Happened

Three unidentified men arrived on a bike at Mumbai's Pushpa Park in Juhu on Sunday, October 18, 2026, where two of them allegedly opened fire on the actor's vehicle before escaping. Mr. Shinde stated that he spoke with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, who has formed special teams to investigate the case and arrest the culprits.

Government Response

The Deputy Chief Minister noted that he spoke directly with Tiger Shroff on Sunday night to assure him of a strong response. He added that the government will review security arrangements for film industry celebrities and take measures to stop recent threats and acts of terror against actors.

Historical Context

Addressing potential gang involvement, Mr. Shinde asserted that authorities will spare no group regardless of who claims responsibility. He recalled the 1990s when gang wars caused bloodshed in Mumbai, pointing out that the Mumbai Police successfully controlled those forces back then and will not tolerate criminal gangs now.

Criticism

Meanwhile, NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, whose father Baba Siddique was killed in a Mumbai shootout a few years ago, criticized the latest incident as an intelligence failure by the Mumbai Police and demanded immediate action.

Context

High-profile shootings and threats directed at film personalities often trigger major security reviews and political debate over urban law enforcement in Mumbai. The city has a long history of organized crime involvement in the entertainment sector, making public safety a major political priority for state leaders.
