Representative image · PexelsA high-level committee formed by the Maharashtra government to improve how the MPSC works has received more than 20,000 emails from aspirants. The suggestions cover many areas, including clear rules for checking papers, a fixed calendar for exams and results, and better question quality with fixed answers. Examination Reform Committee chairperson V. Radha said the panel will consider standard operating procedures for distributing question papers and conducting competitive exams. The committee will also look at clear norms for normalising marks and rules to follow if an exam gets cancelled, alongside measures to protect the interests of candidates who have already been selected. Panel members held discussions with aspirants in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The committee has also visited Amravati, Pune, and Nagpur, interacting with more than 1,750 people to hear their feedback. Aspirants asked for a fixed calendar for preliminary and main exams and interviews. They also demanded an official source of information, an official spokesperson for the commission, and a rule that the question paper pattern should not change without warning. Other demands include releasing a minimum number of posts every year, introducing an audit system, and strengthening the communication network. Students also raised concerns about examination centres, asking for uniform facilities at every venue. State DGP Sadanand Date, Animal Husbandry Department Secretary N. Ramaswamy, and Nasik Divisional Commissioner Pravin Gedam are part of the committee. Gedam noted that students made detailed suggestions on computer-based and offline tests, objective and descriptive papers, waiting lists, and evaluation procedures. Ramaswamy stated that the eligibility criteria, invigilator training, and process security need close attention. DGP Date confirmed that all student suggestions are being recorded. The committee plans to finish its divisional tours by September 30 and submit its final report within three months.
