The Maharashtra government plans to increase the number of posts available through the state Public Service Commission, with plans to break past records for the next exam. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared this update on Tuesday after a cabinet meeting where five departments presented details on vacant positions.
Exam Pattern
The government is also open to bringing back an objective exam pattern if a high-powered committee suggests it. The Dalvi Committee earlier led to a shift from objective to descriptive exams, but student groups have strongly asked to return to the objective format during recent hearings.
Committee Work
The reform committee, led by V. Radha, has received over 20,000 emails with ideas on exam calendars, paper checking, and transparency. Meanwhile, the state is also looking at separate ways to fill empty roles in local self-government bodies.
