Tata Motors has launched the new Aeris compact sedan with introductory prices starting at Rs 5.29 lakh for petrol manual variants and Rs 6.29 lakh for iCNG manual models. Bookings for the car opened on September 25, and vehicle deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first week of Navratri. The sedan is available across five distinct trims named Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and Accomplished. Positioned against popular rivals, the Aeris undercuts the Hyundai Aura starting price by Rs 71,000, the Maruti Dzire by Rs 1.02 lakh, and the Honda Amaze by Rs 2.45 lakh. Petrol manual versions range from Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 8.19 lakh, while iCNG manual options span from Rs 6.29 lakh to Rs 9.19 lakh, maintaining a flat Rs 1 lakh premium over petrol variants. Petrol AMT models start at Rs 6.69 lakh, whereas iCNG AMT variants begin at Rs 7.69 lakh, with both automatic options available from the Pure trim onward for an extra Rs 55,000. Under the hood, the Aeris features a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine coupled with either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The iCNG configuration utilizes twin-cylinder technology to enhance boot packaging, delivering a segment-leading 419 litres of luggage space with side struts that prevent interference with storage. Exterior styling highlights include a slim gloss-black front grille, sleek headlamps, a wide lower air intake, and sculpted bumpers, with higher trims incorporating LED headlamps, DRLs, connected tail lamps, and a dual-tone roof. Safety equipment is robust across all models. The entry-level Smart variant comes equipped with six airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, and three-point seat belts with reminders for every seat. Mid and upper trims progressively add features such as an 8-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an HD reverse parking camera, cruise control, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, and rain-sensing wipers. The top-tier Accomplished trim offers ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, wireless smartphone charging, and iRA connectivity featuring over 35 connected functions. Tata Motors has confirmed that the Aeris is meant exclusively for personal and family buyers and will not be sold to taxi fleets. Fleet customers will continue to be served by the separate Xpres-T brand based on the Tigor.
