The ticketing platform BookMyShow has disabled user reviews and ratings for the newly released film The Paradise, starring actor Nani. This change follows a sharp drop in ticket sales on Friday after the movie opened in theatres on Thursday following paid premieres on Wednesday. The production team secured a Bengaluru court order before release to stop the sharing of defamatory content, arguing that negative material could cause heavy financial loss. When asked about this legal step during promotions in Mumbai, Nani stated that the action did not target honest opinions from viewers. Producers often disable these ratings to stop fake bot reviews rather than real feedback from audiences. Several other recent movies have also faced similar restrictions on the platform. Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri and Ishan Saksena under Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas and IVY Entertainment, the movie features an ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, and Raghav Juyal. Set in the 1980s, the plot follows a community named Savaari as they fight for legal identity while facing oppression from a feudal leader. Following mixed feedback, lead actor Nani shared a note on social media acknowledging the humorous internet jokes and stating he learned from the flaws pointed out by critics.
