The 1994 action film Mohra is returning to the big screen in a 4K remastered version on November 6 during Diwali week. Trimurti Films Pvt Ltd confirmed the plan through a video on its YouTube channel, and Deepinder Singh's Rimpy Films International is handling the re-release.

The Clash

Because it arrives during Diwali, Mohra will face a direct box office clash with the highly anticipated film Ramayana, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi. This massive competition could lead to limited screen counts for the classic. However, single-screen theatre Heera Talkies in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, has decided to play Mohra in all four of its daily shows, skipping Ramayana entirely. Rimpy Films International also brought director Rajiv Rai's recent film Zora back to cinemas this week at the same Agra theatre.

Future Plans and Original Cast

Rimpy Films International has also shared plans on its social media to bring back other Trimurti productions like Vidhaata, Tridev, Gupt and Yudh. The original 1994 release of Mohra was a major blockbuster, powered by music composer Viju Shah and an ensemble cast featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Poonam Jhawer. Fans will once again get to experience hit songs like 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast' and 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani' in theatres.

Context

Movie re-releases have turned into a popular trend in recent years, with several older Hindi films drawing large audiences back to theatres for profitable second runs. Remastering classics in high-definition formats like 4K allows cinemas to offer nostalgic viewers a refreshed theatrical experience. However, scheduling such titles during festive holiday periods like Diwali pits them directly against fresh blockbuster releases fighting for the same screens.
