Fans in India have rushed to cinema halls for the special theatrical re-release of the 2019 Marvel hit Avengers: Endgame. The updated version brings five minutes of fresh footage spread across four scenes, featuring an extended ending and three post-credits sequences. Data from Sacnilk shows the film earned seven crore and sixty-five lakh rupees on its second day. On its opening day, the movie brought in seven crore and twenty-five lakh rupees. This pushes the total earnings after two days to fourteen crore and ninety lakh rupees. The special version could turn into one of the top-earning re-released movies in India. Baahubali: The Epic currently tops this list with fifty-two crore and fifteen lakh rupees worldwide during its 2025 re-release, followed by Sanam Teri Kasam at around thirty-nine crore rupees and Tumbbad at around thirty-seven crore and five lakh rupees. Before the launch, directors the Russo Brothers asked viewers to keep the new scenes hidden. They wrote that they want others to enjoy the same surprises without spoilers. The filmmakers also looked back at watching the original release in 2019 among crowds, calling it one of the most emotional nights of their careers due to the live gasps, cheers, and tears from fans. The fresh material appears to bridge the gap between the Infinity Saga and current multiverse stories. It also packs an exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday, set for release on December 18. Robert Downey Junior will come back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for this upcoming film, but he will play Victor von Doom instead of Tony Stark, making his new role a major talking point.
