Family Support
Actor Kashmera Shah has spoken out in support of Sunita Ahuja amid an escalating public dispute involving Bollywood star Govinda and his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Though she did not mention names directly, Kashmera responded to serious online claims made by Komal Rani, who recently alleged that Sunita had tried to harm Govinda. In a social media post, Kashmera defended Sunita and women who protect their families, noting that she has never encountered such intimate personal details being shared in a work setting across her own 30-year career spanning 50 films. Govinda and Sunita have been married since 1987 and share two children, Tina and Yashvardhan.
The Dispute
The latest controversy flared up after Govinda and Komal Rani were seen together at Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, while Sunita visited the same location separately hours earlier. Govinda dismissed the dating rumors, stating that their appearance was for an upcoming film and claiming the allegations are part of a plot to isolate him from his family. Meanwhile, Komal Rani used social media to allege that Sunita has mentally harassed Govinda and tried to keep him from working, adding that nobody can break a home that is already broken. This follows Sunita's recent public appeal asking women and Gen Z for support as her household breaks apart. In August, Sunita had also alleged during a phone call with Rakhi Sawant that Govinda and Komal planned to marry, though Govinda's manager denied that claim.
