Its engine makes seven horsepower more while keeping the same torque level. Both bikes share the same Akrapovic exhaust system and 14.8-litre fuel tank capacity, though the R version gets new colours and stickering. Inside the cockpit, riders get a much larger 8.8-inch TFT screen that replaces the smaller 5-inch unit found on the base bike. Up front, the disc brake is twenty millimetres larger at 320mm, paired with fully adjustable upside-down forks. The rear suspension is also fully adjustable now. Dimensional changes include a wheelbase that is five millimetres longer at 1481mm, a seat height raised by fifteen millimetres to 840mm, and ground clearance increased by fifteen millimetres to 210mm. Even with all these new parts, the total kerb weight stays the same at 179 kilograms. Pricing for the R model is set at EUR 16,399, which is a EUR 1,400 increase over the standard 990 Duke.
