Career and Golmaal
Warsi is celebrating 30 years in the film industry this year and has more releases lined up than ever before in his career. He is set to return for the fifth part of the Golmaal franchise, which was recently announced by actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Warsi has been a part of every film in the series so far. Looking back at the shoots, he shares a funny memory of joking with his co-stars on set that anyone whose own films fail ends up joining the Golmaal line.
Ensembles and OTT
Family entertainers and comedies are making a strong return. Warsi recently acted in Welcome To The Jungle and Dhamaal 4. He remarks that Welcome To The Jungle featured a massive cast, joking that it felt like half the industry and anyone without a job was in it. He believes secure actors feel comfortable in solo films or large groups alike, while insecure actors remain insecure. He also credits the OTT medium for helping outsiders who do not come from film families find work, admitting that without streaming platforms, he and many others might have been jobless.
Busy Year Ahead
Apart from his comedy films, Warsi stars in the web series Pritam & Pedro, appeared in Ghamasaan, and will finish the year with the Shah Rukh Khan film King. He admits he never expected such a busy year or this level of success, noting that he is just enjoying the good phase without worrying.
