UPDATE - follow-up to Minister urges newly-elected representatives to prioritise rural development, welfare: Roads and Buildings Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy recently met with newly-elected ZPTC and MPTC members from the NDA alliance in Banaganapalle. He congratulated these leaders who won their seats without opposition and reminded them to treat public trust as a core duty.
Local Duties
Mr. Janardhan Reddy advised the new representatives to stay easy to reach for local residents and solve their daily problems quickly. He instructed them to work closely with government officials to speed up rural projects, focusing heavily on basic needs like drinking water, roads, drainage, sanitation, and street lighting.
Government Focus
The Minister stated that the unanimous wins show strong public faith in the current leadership led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh. He noted that the state administration is putting top priority on infrastructure, farming, education, and healthcare while making sure welfare schemes reach every eligible family.
Context
Local bodies like ZPTC and MPTC councils form the backbone of rural governance in India, connecting grassroots villages directly to state-level administration. Panchayat-level representatives hold the primary responsibility for executing rural welfare schemes and building basic civic infrastructure at the village level.
