Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries and newly listed Jio Platforms are releasing their financial earnings today for the period concluding at the close of September. Reliance Industries shares opened higher in the morning session before slipping into negative territory with a drop of less than 1%, touching a low of 1,157.10 rupees. Jio Platforms shares also gave up their early gains and fell by over 2.41% during the trading session.

Brokerage Expectations

Kotak Institutional Equities projects that Reliance Industries will post a 15% year-on-year increase in consolidated EBITDA, alongside an 11.1% quarterly rise. The oil-to-chemicals segment EBITDA is anticipated to jump 47% year-on-year, helped by strong special economic zone refinery earnings, no windfall tax impact, US ethane-based petrochemicals, and a weaker rupee. In contrast, retail EBITDA is expected to drop marginally by 0.8% with an 11.7% revenue increase, while oil and gas EBITDA should fall 7.2% due to lower production. For Jio Platforms, market experts predict double-digit year-on-year growth in both revenue and net profit.

Analyst Views

Seema Srivastava from SMC Global Securities suggests that current investors hold their Reliance Industries shares while watching for commentary on telecom tariff adjustments, subscriber monetization milestones, and retail margin recovery. Anuj Gupta, a SEBI registered research analyst, recommends buying and holding Reliance shares due to strong fundamentals, expecting the price to reach 1,500 to 1,700 rupees over the next year. Meanwhile, Arun Kejriwal advises Jio Platforms shareholders to hold their scrip with a stop-loss under the 1,358 rupee listing price, noting that the stock could hit 1,500 rupees if results match expectations. Kejriwal also pointed out that the weighted average of Jio Platforms shares rose from 1,360 to 1,410 rupees on Thursday after reaching a new high of 1,489.70 rupees.
