Choreographer Pony Verma and actor Prakash Raj tied the knot on August 24, 2010, despite a 12‑year age gap that drew public criticism. The couple chose a quiet Punjabi ceremony in Hyderabad, attended by Prakash’s mother, his daughters Pooja and Meghana, and close friends. Pony says the age difference helped the marriage because Prakash could understand her life, struggles and mindset. She recalls friends being angry about the gap, yet she feels happy that it works. ## Relationship Pony describes Prakash as direct and honest about wanting marriage from the start. He told her he wanted a long‑term partnership and would not waste time. She adds that his calm presence lets her relax, enjoy meals and feel that nothing is rushing. Pony also notes that his past experience made him able to handle her personality. ## Family Life The step‑daughters Pooja and Meghana stood with Pony during the wedding, applying mehndi and haldi to their father. They continue to visit every December and share important milestones. Pony and Prakash welcomed their son Vedhant in 2016. In 2021 they remarried on their 11th anniversary so Vedhant could witness the ceremony. Pony, originally from Kolkata and a choreographer since 2000, never imagined leaving Mumbai but now lives happily in Hyderabad. ## Context Age gaps often spark debate in Indian celebrity marriages, but both partners say mutual respect and honesty keep the union steady.
