Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh went live on Instagram to address his detractors and news channels, stating that he remains unbothered by criticism and will continue his work for as long as he chooses. The singer delivered these remarks hours after launching his Aura India Tour at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday.

Tour Challenges

The concert marked his return to the national capital after two years, but the event faced initial hurdles when Delhi Police withheld permission due to security concerns during the festive season. Organisers BookMyShow Live secured clearance after submitting updated plans for crowd control, security, and traffic management. Intermittent rain also left the stage wet for two days before the show. Dosanjh noted during his live session that multiple attempts were made to halt his concert, adding that unique obstacles always arise when he performs in the country.

Stage Performance

The sold-out event proceeded under heavy security with numerous police and CRPF personnel deployed. Dosanjh thanked security forces during the concert and on his Instagram Live, even bringing a woman CRPF officer on stage to praise her service and compare her presence to his mother. Wearing white and sunglasses, he made a grand entrance on an elevated platform amid a light show and fireworks. His setlist featured hits like 5 Taara, Patiala Peg, GOAT, Do You Know, and Laung Gawacha, alongside tracks from films such as Amar Singh Chamkila and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The evening concluded with an extensive drone show displaying messages in the sky.

Context

High-profile music tours in major Indian metropolitan cities often require extensive coordination between private event organisers and local law enforcement agencies to manage large crowds and traffic. Public figures in the entertainment industry frequently face media scrutiny and public debates surrounding large-scale public events.
