Audi India has launched the new Q3 to replace its older version after more than four years on the market. The updated entry-level luxury sport utility vehicle features a new exterior look, an updated cabin, and extra features.

Dimensions and Size

Measuring 4,530 millimetres long, the Audi Q3 is the second-longest model in this group, just behind the BMW X1 LWB. It also has a width of 1,890 millimetres, making it the widest option in its segment. Despite its length and width, the Q3 has the shortest wheelbase in the comparison at 2,681 millimetres. Audi has not yet announced the ground clearance and boot space numbers for the new vehicle. Among the other models, the BMW X1 LWB and Mini Countryman C sit highest off the ground at 190 millimetres, while the Mercedes-Benz GLA sits at 183 millimetres. The BMW X1 LWB also provides the largest boot space at 540 litres, followed by the Mini Countryman C at 505 litres, the standard BMW X1 at 476 litres, and the Mercedes-Benz GLA at 425 litres. For wheels, the Mercedes-Benz GLA offers both 18-inch and 19-inch choices, while the other SUVs come with only one wheel size option.

Engines and Performance

Under the hood, the new Audi Q3 runs on a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, which is the only engine choice it provides. This motor puts out 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive layout as standard. By comparison, rival models use front-wheel-drive setups. When looking only at turbo-petrol engines, the Q3 carries the largest and most powerful motor in the lineup. Competitors offer smaller petrol choices, such as the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines found in the standard BMW X1, BMW X1 LWB, and Mini Countryman C, which produce between 136 and 156 horsepower. The Mercedes-Benz GLA uses a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine making 163 horsepower. Additionally, the standard BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA are sold with turbo-diesel engine options as well, with the diesel GLA priced between 53 and 55 lakh rupees and the diesel BMW X1 priced at 52.9 lakh rupees.

Pricing and Market Position

Priced at Rs 51.99 lakh, the petrol Audi Q3 sits near the top end of the price bracket for petrol-run entry-level luxury SUVs. For comparison, the petrol BMW X1 costs 50.9 lakh rupees, the BMW X1 LWB is priced at 49.90 lakh rupees, the Mini Countryman C costs 47.5 lakh rupees, and the petrol Mercedes-Benz GLA is priced at 51.8 lakh rupees. Unlike some of its key competitors, the Q3 does not offer a diesel variant.

Context

Entry-level luxury SUVs are popular choices for buyers looking to step up from standard family cars into premium brands without paying for full-sized luxury models. Comparing these specifications helps buyers evaluate trade-offs between cabin space, engine output, drivetrain capability, and price across competing German and European nameplates.
