Manoj Bajpayee Calls Juhu Shooting Involving Tiger Shroff Scary as Police Arrest Suspects

Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee has called the recent firing incident targeting Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu neighbourhood a frightening situation. Speaking to news agency ANI, Bajpayee stated that random gun violence is scary, while expressing relief that the actor is safe and his driver is recovering slowly from injuries.

The Attack

The shooting took place on the evening of Sunday, October 18, when Tiger Shroff was returning from playing football. Three bike-borne assailants opened fire at his vehicle, discharging at least five rounds before fleeing. The actor escaped without gunshot injuries, though his driver, Firdous, and a bystander sustained injuries and were treated at Nanavati Hospital. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde later visited the actor at his home, and his father, Jackie Shroff, assured the public of his safety.

Investigation

The Mumbai Crime Branch's Anti-Extortion Cell is leading the probe. Suspects fled through Gujarat and Rajasthan before being intercepted in Kota and brought back to Mumbai. A court remanded three accused to police custody until October 31. The Delhi Police Special Cell also arrested individuals linked to an interstate weapons supply network, bringing the total number of arrests to seven. Investigators are examining potential ties to an overseas syndicate linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which reportedly claimed responsibility online due to the actor's association with Salman Khan. Police have also increased security around Salman Khan's Bandra residence.

Context

High-profile security incidents involving Bollywood figures often draw swift police attention and public debate over celebrity safety in Mumbai. Investigators routinely examine interstate supply networks and organized syndicates when firearms are used in targeted attacks. Such cases frequently lead to heightened security measures around other prominent film personalities as a precaution while inquiries continue.
