Govinda and co-star Komal Rani at Lalbaugcha Raja hours after Sunita’s visit

Govinda visited Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja on Tuesday, September 22, seeking Ganesh Chaturthi blessings, and was accompanied by his Roopa co‑star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Their appearance came hours after Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja had already offered prayers at the same pandal. Govinda and Komal took part in the final aarti and then posed for photographers outside the shrine. The actor wore a traditional white kurta‑pyjama, while Komal appeared in a red saree with heavy jewellery, bangles and later a strip of sindoor, sparking fresh social‑media speculation. Earlier in the year the pair were spotted together at Mumbai airport, fueling rumours about a possible relationship. In August, Sunita publicly discussed Govinda’s link with Komal during a phone call with Rakhi Sawant, claiming the two were planning to marry. Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha dismissed the claim, stating there was no second marriage and that Govinda remains married to Sunita. Govinda later objected to his personal matters being aired publicly, insisting they should not affect his work. He was also seen with his children, daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja, during the Ganpati pooja and visarjan. The marriage saga has been ongoing: in February 2025 Sunita filed for divorce, but a lawyer said the couple later reconciled; in August 2026 she withdrew the petition, and Shashi Sinha reaffirmed there was no separation. Govinda and Komal are set to share screen space in the upcoming film Roopa, marking the actor’s return to cinema as both lead and producer, with Komal introduced as the female lead. Reports also hint at a possible second collaboration titled Duniyadari, though details remain unconfirmed.
