Telugu actor Nani has asked Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for help so he can visit an RTC X Roads theatre for the premiere of his new film 'The Paradise' on Wednesday. Nani promised to follow all safety rules for managing crowds.
Chief Minister Response
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised Nani for caring about safety and told him to send an official application to the local police station. The police will review the request and make a final choice. Nani thanked the Chief Minister and said he understands the need for safety, especially with the Ganesh idol immersion event coming up on September 25. He noted that he and his team do not want to trouble the police or disrupt current plans. Nani added that he will fully respect the final decision of the police and will happily skip the visit if there are any safety concerns.
Background Context
Nani's request comes after a tragic incident in December where a woman died and her son was badly hurt in a stampede during the premiere of the movie 'Pushpa 2' at Sandhya Theatre, also located at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. Nani, whose real name is Naveen Babu, wrote on X to the Chief Minister, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and the state police. He explained that watching movies with fans at RTC X Roads holds a special place in Hyderabad, as the area is iconic for cinema viewing. Revanth Reddy also mentioned the film's director, Odela Srikanth, while responding to the actor's post.
