Representative image · PexelsUPDATE - follow-up to 3 reasons to buy Mahindra Thar OG and 2 not to: The newly launched Mahindra Thar OG brings fresh updates including new Snow, Sand and Mud terrain modes that work with ESP, throttle control and steering input. The SUV switches to an electric power steering unit that allows one-finger turns below 20kph, while adding a Watts linkage and a widened track for better highway stability. It also features a DaVinci damping setup to handle low-speed bumps, with the ZXT trim getting frequency-dependent dampers for its larger 19-inch wheels. On the downside, the cabin remains cramped with a strict two-seater rear setup and limited boot space, while the interior uses hard plastics that feel low rent compared to the Thar Roxx. Priced between Rs 10.32 lakh and Rs 17.75 lakh ex-showroom, the vehicle offers off-roading capability under Rs 65 lakh.
