Veteran actor Raza Murad has strongly criticized the Bollywood film industry for failing to attend the funeral of late actor Mushtaq Khan. Murad posted an emotional video on his Instagram account to express his anger about the absence of big-name stars.
Funeral Attendance
Mushtaq Khan passed away on September 24 following a long battle with cancer. His funeral took place on September 25 with family members and industry colleagues in attendance, including Rajpal Yadav, Anees Bazmee, Zaid Darbar, Sanjay Mishra, Manish Wadhwa, Shehzad Khan, Rajat Bedi, Annu Kapoor, and Sulabha Arya. Murad noted that while many fellow actors and colleagues came to pay their respects, no major stars showed up.
Murad's Criticisms
In his video statement, Murad said that these same stars would readily attend an industrialist son wedding and even serve guests like waiters, or show up for political parties if needed. He pointed out that Khan gave fifty years of his life to the film industry, yet top stars could not spare fifty minutes to bid him a final goodbye. Murad also highlighted that Khan built his career entirely through his own hard work and did not need anyone in life or death, though the lack of attendance remains a regrettable oversight given that Khan had worked with nearly every major star during his career.
