Veteran actor Raza Murad has publicly asked why top Bollywood celebrities stayed away from the funeral of late actor Mushtaq Khan. Khan passed away on September 24 at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer, and his final rites took place in Mumbai on September 25. Murad shared a video on Instagram where he talked about Khan's long journey in the Hindi film industry. He pointed out that no major star showed up to give their final goodbye. Murad noted that Khan built his career purely through his own acting work without trying to please powerful people in the industry. Even though big stars were missing, several industry peers and colleagues went to Mumbai to attend the funeral. The attendees included actors Rajat Bedi, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Manish Wadhwa, and Sulabha Arya. Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, along with actors Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma, also shared public tributes after the news of Khan's passing. Khan earned recognition across Hindi cinema for playing memorable supporting and comic characters. His notable film credits include popular movies like Welcome, Aashiqui, Hera Pheri, Gadar, and Jodi No. 1. According to details shared by his business partner, Khan had earlier beaten lung cancer with successful medical treatment. The illness came back in early September, leading to a sharp drop in his health and a hospital stay before his death. Towards the end of his video message, Murad reflected on how fame and money do not last forever. He urged people in the film business to stay grounded and humble despite achieving professional success.
