The action adventure fantasy film The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest crossed the Rs 50 crore mark worldwide by its fourth day, despite a massive drop in ticket sales on its first Monday. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film earned Rs 46.35 crore gross and Rs 38.35 crore net in India, alongside Rs 4 crore internationally, pushing its cumulative global total to Rs 50.35 crore. On Monday, Vvaan collected only Rs 5.25 crore from 7,012 screens, marking its lowest single-day earnings so far. This sharp fall followed its best single-day performance on Sunday, when it brought in Rs 14.35 crore from 7,135 screens. The film opened on Friday with Rs 8 crore from 6,746 shows, rose to Rs 11.25 crore on Saturday across 6,887 shows, and faced negative reviews overall. Most of its collections came from B-centres in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to its theme around Chhath Puja folklore and rituals, while it also faced competition from Vishal Chaturvedi's devotional drama Hanuman Ansh and awaited the release of Abhishek Pathak's Drishyam 3 on October 2. Even with the Monday slowdown, Vvaan surpassed the four-day net total of Alia Bhatt's Alpha, which stood at Rs 37.85 crore in India though its worldwide collection reached Rs 63.64 crore. The film also marked Sidharth Malhotra's biggest opening weekend in 11 years and ten theatrical releases, pushing past his past domestic lifetime earnings of Yodha at Rs 33.48 crore, Thank God at Rs 36.35 crore, and Hasee To Phasee at Rs 37.36 crore to become his sixth highest-grossing film ever. It now trails Marjaavaan at Rs 48.04 crore, while his top three earners remain Ek Villain at Rs 105.76 crore, Brothers at Rs 82.49 crore, and Kapoor & Sons at Rs 73.22 crore.

Context

Box office collections for Indian films often experience a sharp dip on the first working Monday following a weekend, especially when early word of mouth is mixed or negative. Regional appeal in smaller cities and towns can heavily drive early numbers for fantasy and action titles before competing releases arrive in theaters later in the week.
