Drishyam: The Conclusion collected more than Rs 55 crore on its opening day, becoming Ajay Devgn’s biggest ever debut. Industry tracker Sacnilk reported a gross of Rs 56.04 crore in India by 8 pm on Friday. The previous personal best was the 2024 release Singham Again, which opened at Rs 45 crore. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat and has drawn positive reviews, especially for the lead performances. Pre‑release buzz grew after reports that Akshaye Khanna walked out of the project citing creative differences. Devgn’s recent hits include Sooryavanshi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Drishyam 2, RRR, Shaitaan, Raid 2 and Dhamaal 4. Dhamaal 4 earned roughly Rs 222 crore worldwide against a Rs 150 crore budget, while Raid 2 made about Rs 237 crore against Rs 120 crore. The first Drishyam film opened at Rs 5.85 crore in 2015 and its sequel in 2022 opened at Rs 18.15 crore. Together the earlier two installments have grossed over Rs 452 crore globally. With a Rs 55‑crore‑plus start, the new sequel is on track to exceed the combined lifetime earnings of its predecessors and could become Devgn’s biggest commercial success.## Context The Drishyam series has become one of Bollywood’s most successful crime‑thriller franchises, each sequel drawing larger audiences. Ajay Devgn’s string of recent blockbusters has raised expectations for his releases, making opening‑day numbers a key indicator of a film’s overall performance. Strong first‑day collections often lead to higher total grosses in the Indian market, especially for star‑driven sequels.
