Reported by Arjun Sethi (Fact-Checker) · Rushlane ·
Royal Enfield has unveiled its new middle-weight adventure tourer, the Himalayan 750, as the first of the company's 750cc models to roll down the production line.
Specifications And Engine
The motorcycle runs on a new 743cc twin-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine that generates 55 PS of peak power at 7000 RPM and 63 Nm of peak torque at 5000 RPM. Ninety percent of this torque is available from 3500 RPM. The engine connects to a 6-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch, and an electronic throttle body that enables cruise control.
Features And Hardware
Riders can select from five riding modes named Road, Road Sport, Rain, Trail, and Custom, which adjust engine mapping, traction control, and ABS. The bike includes a TFT Tripper Dash with Google Maps mirroring and TPMS data, controlled by new switchgear. The frame uses the engine as a stressed member and relies on Showa 43mm upside-down front forks with 190 mm travel and a Showa rear mono-shock with 170 mm travel. Braking duties are handled by twin front floating discs and a single rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, and lean-sensitive traction control.
Variants And Dimensions
The motorcycle comes in five color choices consisting of Siberia White, Aztec Green, Viking Bronze, Tectonic Black, and Antarctic Silver. The Antarctic Silver variant includes extra touring gear such as heated grips, hand guards, Givi hard panniers, a Givi top box, and an aluminium sump guard. The machine has a 224 kg kerb weight, a 17.8-litre fuel tank, a 1,522 mm wheelbase, and an 815 mm seat height. Additional equipment features all-new LED headlights, a key-based immobilizer, dual Type-C USB ports, self-canceling turn indicators, panic braking alert, and Wingman 2.0 with 4G connectivity.
Context
Adventure tourers are designed to handle both smooth highways and rough off-road terrain. Royal Enfield has not yet announced the official launch date or prices for the Indian market.
