Box Office Numbers

Abhishek Pathak's crime thriller Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, earned Rs 6.25 crore domestically on its second Monday. This marked a drop of more than 72 percent from its second Sunday collection of Rs 22.50 crore from 14,872 shows, bringing its domestic net total to Rs 315.25 crore and gross to Rs 378.24 crore after 11 days. The film also added Rs 2.50 crore internationally on its second Monday, raising its total overseas earnings to Rs 111.50 crore and its worldwide gross to Rs 489.74 crore. Despite the earnings slip, the movie continues to secure more than 13,000 shows across India, helped by the absence of new Hindi releases last Friday.

Records and Competition

Drishyam 3 has become Ajay Devgn's highest-grossing film as a lead actor, beating Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and crossing the Rs 300 crore mark in India for the first time. It is the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026 domestically, sitting behind Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, Hanuman Ansh, and Border 2, while standing as the second highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide for the year. The film previously amassed Rs 62 crore on Gandhi Jayanti, prompting the makers of Udta Teer to delay its release from October 9 to October 23. Starting this week, Drishyam 3 faces new competition from the dubbed Hindi version of Jailer 2 on October 15, and Bollywood releases Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam and Nayyi Naveli on October 16.

Context

The film is produced by Panorama Studios and features a large ensemble cast including Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, and Kamlesh Sawant. It serves as the third instalment in a franchise adapted from Malayalam movies starring Mohanlal, though it follows a different plot path than its Malayalam counterpart.
