Actor Parineeti Chopra has condemned the body shaming of new mothers after childbirth, calling such behavior uneducated and bizarre. Her comments follow recent scrutiny faced by actor Katrina Kaif over her postpartum weight gain. In an interview with IANS, Parineeti stated that she ignores such negative remarks because she does not spend much time on social media and focuses instead on her family and friends. She questioned why postpartum changes are viewed negatively, pointing out that a woman's body naturally changes after producing a baby within nine months, which she called beautiful evidence of childbirth. She added that critics lack lives, education, and basic human decency. Parineeti welcomed her first child, son Neer, in October 2025 with her husband, politician Raghav Chadha. During her pregnancy, she shot for the thriller show Shaque, directed by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P Malhotra, before taking a short break. Salman Khan also addressed the issue during an episode of Bigg Boss 20. Host Salman removed his shirt and wiped off his makeup to respond to trolls targeting his own appearance, while also defending postpartum weight gain without naming anyone directly. He noted that everyone gains weight during pregnancy and that women will get fit when they return to films, as they currently want to spend time with their family. Salman's comments are believed to refer to Katrina Kaif, his co-star from films like Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Partner, Yuvraaj, the Tiger franchise, and Bharat. Katrina and her husband, Vicky Kaushal, welcomed their son, Vihaan, in November last year. Katrina recently faced online trolling regarding her appearance at the Ambanis' Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai.
