This follows a sharp decline in the previous session where the Sensex dropped 876.37 points to settle at 73,852.90 and the Nifty 50 closed below the 22,900 mark at 22,888.95 due to weak global cues, profit-booking amid rising crude oil prices, and selling pressure in private sector banks like HDFC Bank and Axis Bank. Economic Times - Markets also reported that disappointing corporate earnings contributed to the market decline.
